I believe there are only two types of people in Fuquay-Varina. There are those that are extremely excited about the day that fiber-optic internet is available at their house, and those that couldn’t care less.
For those of you that are intense gamers, streamers or work from home, your time has come. On March 20, Ting lit up the first Fuquay-Varina home with high-speed internet. How fast was it? The field test showed a download speed of over 950 Mbps, and upload speed over 930 Mbps. That’s fast.
The lighting ceremony was in the Alston Pond neighborhood off Hwy 55 and Hilltop Needmore Extension.
Ting started working on the network in Fuquay-Varina in June of 2018. In September of 2018 they started on Phase 2, in January of this year, they started phase 3, and in March they started phase 4.
Ting’s rate is $89/month for their internet service. There is a one-time installation fee for the fiber to be run into your home or business.
