Longtime Fuquay-Varina residents Larry and Rhonda Terhune are blending their business background with their love of brunch, family, and community, and bringing the first Famous Toastery to Fuquay-Varina. Famous Toastery serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day, and features fresh dishes made from scratch. Deli on Main — Coming Soon
604 N. Main Street
Opening later this year is a New York-style deli owned by two friends from Long Island whose paths crossed years later, by chance, in Fuquay-Varina. While it’s early to see a menu, their Facebook page describes their restaurant as “NY traditions with Southern hospitality” and mentions hot and cold deli classics, fresh chopped salads, and more to come. Lucci Blue’s Social Cafe — Coming Soon

Inspired by relaxed, all-day “coffee to wine” social gatherings at cafes in Italy, Lucci Blue’s will feature gourmet breakfast, lunch, and charcuterie plates; artisan sandwiches; a wine bar; seasonal specialty gifts; and an event space. Planned with intention to be a place for people to mindfully connect over a cup of coffee, glass of wine, and an activity, the event space will offer opportunities for yoga, wine and design classes, dance classes, book clubs, craft projects, meditation and breathwork workshops and more. Academy Village, Purfoy Road
A proposed mixed-use development, called Academy Village, is slated to include a 53,000-square-foot Lowe’s Foods grocery store. The site for the store is 4.73 acres of a larger 40-acre property at the intersection of Old Honeycutt Road and Purfoy Road. Developer plans are calling for an additional 89,000 square feet of commercial space and 464 residential units, consisting of 410 apartments and 54 townhouses.
Mike Patel Convenience Store — Proposed
1020 S. Main Street
A site plan has been submitted for a 5,000-square-foot convenience store with six gas pumps and a 6,500-square-foot multi-tenant commercial building. The site will be on a total of 2.59 acres with 35 parking spaces.
Stotan Industrial — Proposed
200 Dickens Road
A site development plan has been proposed for three industrial buildings totaling approximately 487,200 square feet and 520 parking spaces on 39.74 acres. The parcel is located between Dickens Road and Old Powell Road.
Fuquay-Varina Climate Storage — Proposed
7316 Ten Ten Road
A site plan is being reviewed for Fuquay-Varina Climate Storage. The project would include a three-story, 119,175-square-foot climate controlled self-storage building with 24 parking spaces on 4.52 acres.
