WakeMed Healthplex — Coming
WakeMed is expanding access to care with a new, free-standing emergency department planned for Fuquay-Varina. This will be WakeMed’s fifth healthplex and ninth emergency department within Wake County, bringing vital services closer to home for Fuquay-Varina residents. The $38 million outpatient facility will include an emergency department, X-ray and lab services, and 12 treatment rooms.
Mayor Blake Massengill said, “Fuquay-Varina is a future-focused community, dedicated to delivering exceptional services and fostering a safe, vibrant environment for our residents. I am very confident in WakeMed’s commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible healthcare to our community, and we welcome this additional investment in our community.” The new facility, anticipated to open in 2027, will be conveniently located next to the existing WakeMed Fuquay-Varina Medical Park (2400 N. Main Street), which already provides primary and specialty care.
