A kind word or action can have a ripple effect changing a life, a community, even the world. The Fuquay-Varina Garden Club wants to cultivate acts of kindness in our community and beyond by organizing a Random Acts of Kindness Week for October 1 – 7, 2022. They will kick off the week with a booth, sponsored by Bob Barker Company, at the Celebrate Fuquay event on October 1, where you can get inspired and pick up activities and coloring pages for children. You can also visit their Facebook and Instagram pages for great ideas to spread kindness throughout our community.
“My sister’s community in Michigan hosted a kindness week, and the whole town got involved,” said Jackie McMahon, Garden Club member. “We would like to see all the people of Fuquay-Varina get involved in spreading the seeds of kindness. Hosting this dedicated week is a fun way to remind people that a little kindness can make a big difference.”
The Garden Club members are inviting businesses, schools, and neighborhoods to participate in actively spreading kindness. As they say, it doesn’t cost anything, but it can produce beautiful results. Studies have shown that developing habits of kindness can lower blood pressure and reduce pain, depression, and anxiety. Observing acts of kindness also fosters a feeling of connectedness, which already blooms in Fuquay-Varina.
