The Fuquay-Varina Senior Services Council is pleased to announce they will be hosting the 4th Annual Senior Services Expo on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. The event will once again be held at the Fuquay-Varina Fire Station #1 at 301 S. Fuquay Avenue.
The Senior Services Council is a group of business owners and professionals who work primarily with the senior population of Fuquay-Varina. Their goal is to provided services and information to senior citizens that will help them live their lives to the fullest.
In the beginning, the Senior Services Council met on a monthly basis so professionals would better know the types of services out there for their clients. In many ways, it started out as a networking group that continued to grow. The Chair of the Council, Doctor of Audiology Stephanie Galloway, decided to take the group in a different direction and stated, “The F-V Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities for networking. We as a group decided the networking would come naturally, but we wanted to contribute more to the community. That desire to contribute led us to host the Expo.”
The Senior Services Expo is one place where seniors can go to meet a variety of professionals all in one place. Many times, individuals will come across a business or professional of which they are unaware, but soon realize the need for those services as a result. The Expo is a wonderful opportunity for seniors and their families to learn about things from fire safety to hearing services that are located right here in town, to long-term care for families and individuals, financial planning, and so many more topics of interest.
As an added bonus: If you’re doing Spring Cleaning, you can bring documents that need shredding to the Expo. There will be a shred truck on site to help with that as well as chances to win door prizes, and so much more.
