The Playhouse Children’s Museum
This new business is being opened by a family that’s new to the area, and couldn’t find anything like this around. They are excited about bringing a children’s museum to our community! “We are thrilled to be opening up in December! We will be offering day rates and memberships so you can play with us every day! The activities we have will be geared for children ages 1-10 with a dedicated toddler section, STEM activities and pretend play including a grocery store, mechanic shop, barn, and more! Birthday party rentals will also be available to give you a chance to focus on celebrating and let us do all the work!” With 5 kids of their own, they miss a similar facility that they used to visit. Although it was an hour from their home, they told us it was still worth the drive! They will be opening on December 2 at 1520 Broad St.
Juicehaus
The Arrieta family moved here three years ago from New York. After being here a few short months, they recognized the need for more nutritionally packed food options. Due to the rigorous demands of his work schedule, as a New York firefighter, and previously having owned a restaurant together; they know the demands of owning a business and could not jump on their Juicehaus concept right away. They are looking forward to serving people who are avid raw juicers and also people who perhaps never raw juiced in their lives. Especially the children.
A portion of Juicehaus will provide brick and mortor retail shelf space for local small businesses, artisans and creators. This is the heart of Juicehaus as we feel that helping to lead a purposeful life is our mission, not just for ourselves, but for all.
They hope to be open by Thanksgiving at 509 Broad Street.
Jersey Boy Subs
Jersey Boy Subs is a modern-day anachronism known as a family business; a throwback to simpler times. In an environment filled with mega-franchises and national chains, this family believes in keeping it simple.
In the fall of 1979, the Slocum family left the shores of New Jersey to open their first sub shop in East Lansing, Michigan. Their Michigan stores, known as Jersey Giant Submarines, are well known and loved by Michigan State students and alumni. Thanks to their customers’ tremendous loyalty, they are in the middle of their fourth decade of business in Michigan!
They are excited about introducing their sandwiches to the residents of Fuquay-Varina and the surrounding communities. Jersey Boy takes pride in the preparation of quality subs, made with fresh ingredients, served on freshly baked bread. Customer service is a priority. They guarantee the sub you order will taste great, or they will make it right with no questions asked. The Slocum family looks forward to establishing the same relationships here in North Carolina that they have established in Michigan. They are located next to Staples in Fuquay-Varina.
